Beating Cabin Fever: Kids Classes at the Monon Center

It’s about that time of year when we start getting antsy for good weather. We’re dying to get outside and get some fresh air and sunshine after being cooped up during the cold winter days. Looking to get out of the house? Try signing the family up for some fun classes at the Monon Center. The Monon Center offers all types of sports, hobbies and special interest classes for kids of all ages. Check out some of their unique classes below!

Lego Robotics

“Participants will build LEGO® models featuring working motors and sensors. Projects include smart spinner, a drumming monkey, or a soccer goal kicker that incorporate motors, switches, and sensors to detect tilt and motion.”

Classes are on Mondays at 6:45 and cost $70 for kids 6-10 years old. Classes are also offered to kids ages 5-7 (classes on Mondays at 5 pm).

 

Pottery Quest

“This class is perfect for beginning sculptors! The different projects encourage your child to learn about clay and art in general through exploration. Each child will explore many different textures and beginning tools while creating castles, monsters and more.”

Classes are on Wednesdays at 6 pm and cost $85 for kids ages 7-13.

 

Castles, Creatures & Mysteries

“Put your child’s imagination to the test with this pottery class! Children will create castles, funny creatures, and more! Everyone will create items by hand as well as work on the pottery wheel. Free time to explore will be given in class.”

Classes are on Wednesdays at 5 pm and cost $76 for kids ages 3 to 7 years old.
