Announced earlier this month, the Carmel Chamber of Commerce and the Fishers Chamber of Commerce will be merging into one entity called OneZone.
Leadership of both organizations stated that the merger had been decades in the making and are eager to enact the benefits of one Chamber of Commerce versus multiple organizations.
According to the IndyStar, “OneZone will have about 1,200 members that range from large companies, hospitals and banks to small businesses such as retail shops, hair salons and restaurants.”
Mo Merhoff, current President of the Carmel Chamber of Commerce, will serve as OneZone’s President, and in an article from WYFI, she stated, “We were motivated by the strength of Hamilton County businesses that are currently being served by six different chambers.”
In the past, businesses have paid to be part of both Chambers as they serve residents of both areas. With one combined Chamber, businesses will only need to be part of one organization, and will receive the benefits of two.
The merger is especially beneficial for small businesses who will now get an opportunity to reach larger audiences through a larger, more all-encompassing organization.
