Star report

The town of Fishers is getting more national acclaim as a great place to live.

In its latest issue, Money Magazine has again ranked Indiana’s largest town among select communities on its annual Best Places to Live list.

In fact, Fishers was honored with a top ten ranking — tenth out of the 100 best American cities — up from number 33 in the magazine’s 2006 rankings.

Fishers spokeswoman Sarah Rittman noted that Fishers is also the only Indiana municipality to make the list, which credits each winning community for its plentiful jobs, excellent schools and affordable housing.

Town Council President Scott Faultless, Hamilton Southeastern School Board Vice President Diane Eaton and Fishers Chamber of Commerce board member Michelle Sybesman will hold a news conference at 11 a.m. to address the honor and the town’s progress.

In a similar evaluation, Forbes Magazine recently declared all of Hamilton County as one of the “best places to raise a family” nationwide.
