With Halloween just around the corner, your little ones are probably excited to dress up as their favorite monsters or scour the neighborhoods for candy. Until the big day, here are some family friendly activities coming up in the Indianapolis area this week and weekend they definitely don’t want to miss!

Details: Come check out the zoo’s exciting Halloween themed shows and exhibits this week! Some of the events include Dolphin Adventure shows, animal chats, and even an Elephant pumpkin smash. There will also be a face painting station. Children are encouraged to dress up and bring a candy bag for some trick-or-treating too!
Children’s Museum Haunted House
When: October 18 to October 31

Details: Be sure to check out The Children’s Museum Guild’s 52nd Annual Haunted House sometime this month—this year, pirate-themed! Come aboard the haunted ghost ship on a perilous journey through the sea. Like it does every year, the Haunted House will offer Lights-On Hours, for children that scare easily, and Defender Direct’s Frightening Hours, for those that can handle more scare. And on Friday and Saturday nights, the haunted house will host XTREME SCREAM hours for children and adults alike that truly dare to be scared. Admission: $8-$12.
Haunted Indianapolis Ghost Walk
When: October 30 at 7:00 PM
Where: 1 Monument Circle, Indianapolis, IN 46204
Details: Equal parts history and ghost story, the tour begins on the north side of Monument Circle and lasts two hours. You’ll visit haunted theatres, shops, and learn about the hidden legends surrounding them. Come tour Indy in the spirit of Halloween! Tickets: $13-18

Slightly Haunted Puppet Studio

Details: Come to Peewinkle’s Puppet Studio to see a spectacle for all ages! Witches, ghosts, aliens, and gremlins all play a part on this studio stage production. Admission: $12

Details: Here’s an activity for those 17 and older; a horror-themed comedy show based on audience suggestions. Come see professional improvisers act out stories with classic Hollywood monsters of your choosing for a very unique experience this Halloween. Admission: $14
