Holiday Activities In the Indianapolis area

As you start planning all your holiday fun, it can be overwhelming to decide what to do with so many festivals and activities going on. Below are a few of the city’s best holiday activities and soon-to-be (if they’re not already) family traditions for people all over central Indiana.

 

Holiday on the Square in Carmel

When: November 22, 2014, 3:30 – 6:30 p.m.

What: A lighting ceremony, visit from Santa, live reindeer, entertainment, children’s activities, Holiday Farmer’s Market.

Something special: Bring a donated item to fill Santa’s sleigh. Donations will go to the Carmel Fire Department’s Christmas Assistance Program.

 

Jolly Days Winter Wonderland at the Children’s Museum

When: November 22, 2014 – January 4, 2015

What: Two-story Yule Slide, Jingles the Jolly Bear, visits with Santa, “outdoor” fun including ice fishing and sock-skating and more.

 

Christmas at the Zoo

When: November 28, 2014 – January 4, 2015 at 5:00 p.m. Zoo opens at noon during this event.

What: Santa’s workshop, cookie decorating, holiday lights, carolers, a find the mistletoe challenge, Santa’s Sweet Shop, holiday photo opportunities, carousel rides, 4-D theater, unique shopping and more.

 

Circle of Lights on Monument Circle

When: November 28, 2014 – January 11, 2015

What: Monument Circle lit up with more than 4,000 lights and 52 garland strands to create a beautiful 242-foot display including 26 giant toy soldiers and sailors, 26 peppermint sticks around the Circle and more than 56,000 twinkle lights along the streets in the area.]\]

 

Outdoor Holiday Adventure at Conner Prairie

When: November 28, 2014 – January 4, 2015 at 10 a.m.

What: Family-friendly winter adventure in Prairietown where you can visit characters in their homes as they prepare for the holidays.
