Local Business Spotlight: Milktooth
Unless you’ve been living under a rock for the past few years in Indianapolis, you’ve likely heard of brunch / lunch spot Milktooth in Fletcher Place. It has earned Chef Jonathan Brooks national acclaim and made him a James Beard semifinalist. Conde Nast Traveler even ranked the restaurant one of the best in world. This isn’t your typical brunch spot serving bacon and eggs. We recently stopped in for lunch and sampled some of their out of this world fare in their converted service station turned restaurant. We started with drinks. The fresh brewed iced tea was great, but the Notorious F.I.G. cocktail featuring rye whiskey and fig preserves was amazing.
Next, we went with an appetizer of their sorghum glazed bacon. A sweet and salty treat to start our meal!
For our main course, we went with the Lamb & Beef Burger. This burger had briana cheese, grainy mustard cava poached rhubarb and arugula. Very different than your run of the mill burger, but very good!
For our other entree, we went with the Fried Swiss Cheese Polenta with Sunny Egg. This dish featured shaved celery, horseradish sauce, pickled scallion and cashew pesto. A dish very different than anything we’ve ever had, it was wonderful!
Overall, there are very few culinary experiences in Indianapolis that rival Milktooth. If you’re looking for traditional breakfast, this isn’t your place. If you’re looking for a dish that is unlike anything you’ve ever had before for brunch, get here now! Take a look at the menu below.
