It’s about two months into the year – just enough time for us to get into a slump with our new years’ resolutions. If you’ve been trying to workout more, be healthy or get in shape, try these tips to revitalize your workout routine.

Take advantage of sunny days

In Indiana, seeing the sun before May is a beautiful rarity. When it’s sunny and/or above 45 degrees, try taking your workout routine outside. Some fresh air will do you good!

Change duration

When we go to workout, we usually stick to what we know. If you’re used to longer sessions, try taking a week to do short, intense sessions. Rotate between short and long sessions every other week for some variety.

Try swimming

Swimming is a great workout that is easy on the joints. It works every muscle in your body and is a great cardio workout, too. Swimming is a great way to mentally relax and clear your mind while you’re toning your whole body.

Sign up for a run

Deadlines are great motivators! Try signing up for a marathon, half marathon or 5k happening this summer and use that as motivation to get yourself in shape this spring.

 Sign up for new classes

The Monon Center, the YMCA and other fitness centers in the area have great and interesting workout classes to revitalize your get-healthy resolution!
