The eventful month of May in Indianapolis is now behind us and the weather is getting HOT! Whether it be an indoor event where you can stay cool in the AC, a pool to soak up some rays or an outdoor festival that is perfect for a beautiful day, this month is full of great events throughout the city. Here are a few of our favorites:

Straight No Chaser

When: June 1st at 8PM

Where: The Palladium (1 Center Green, Carmel, IN 46032)

Indiana’s own fabulous acapella group Straight No Chaser makes a stop at the Palladium in Carmel. Founded at Indiana University and discovered on YouTube by Atlantic Records, Straight No Chaser has become one of the world’s top all-male a cappella groups, with a massive fanbase, numerous national TV appearances and a series of successful CD releases. Fishers Farmers Market

When: June 2nd, 8AM – 12PM

Where: Nickel Plate District Amphitheater (11601 Municipal Drive, Fishers, IN 46038)

The popular Fishers Farmers Market is back and this season will feature all of your favorite seasonal goodies from over 55 full and part-time vendors. The whole family will enjoy live music, entertainment, family activities and cooking demonstrations while stocking up on fresh local food and plant inspired products and handmade items!

 

Caroline Symmes Celebrity Softball Challenge

When: June 7th, 7:00PM

Where: Victory Field (501 W Maryland St, Indianapolis, IN 46225)

Indy’s biggest sports stars take the field for a cause for the 10th Annual Caroline Symmes Memorial Celebrity Softball Challenge. The event benefits the Indiana Children’s Wish Fund, with Indy celebrities taking over downtown Victory Field and raising funds to help the Indiana Children’s Wish Fund grant wishes to Indiana children, ages 3 -18, who suffer from life-threatening illnesses.

 

Summer Concert: Living Proof!

When: June 8th, 7Pm – 10PM

Where: Daniel’s Vineyard (9061 N 700 W, McCordsville, IN 46055)

Visit this great vineyard near Geist Reservoir for a night of refreshing wine and great tunes from local favorite cover band, Living Proof! Tickets are available here.

 

The Incredibles Double Feature in IMAX

When: June 13th, 6PM

Where: IMAX at Indiana State Museum (650 W. Washington St., Indianapolis, IN 46204)

Do your kids love The Incredibles? Here is a chance to see both of these wonderful movies back to back in IMAX! Make an evening out of it and grab dinner downtown before. 

 

Christ Church Strawberry Festival

When: June 14th, 9AM

Where: Monument Circle (1 Monument Circle, Indianapolis, IN 46204)

Strawberry lovers will take over Monument Circle for the Annual Christ Church Strawberry Festival! Enjoy the “Works” which includes traditional strawberries, ice cream and whipped topping on a shortcake biscuit for $7. Variations are also available for less. Carryout begins at 8:30 am. Entertainment begins at 10 am. Cash only.

 

88th Annual Marion County Fair

When: June 15th to 24th

Where: Marion County Fairgrounds (7300 E. Troy Ave., Indianapolis, IN 46239)

Fairgoers are invited to enjoy a variety of attractions including demolition derbies, motorcycle races, pageants, a bear show, concerts, car show, talent shows, contests, 4-H horse competition, Elephant Experience, Dock Dogs, the midway, fabulous fair food, and much more for the entire family! Hundreds of Marion County youth showcase their talents through 4-H to celebrate Marion County’s agricultural heritage in categories including fashion, photography, crafts, and animals leading to the Indiana State Fair in August.

 

Broad Ripple Duck Race

When: June 24th, 3PM

Where: 6323 Guilford Ave., Indianapolis, IN 46220

To participate in the Duck Race all you have to do is purchase a duck or paddling of ducks and you are entered in the race. You can purchase ducks at the Duck Race or at various BRVA events in June. The race begins promptly at 4:30 pm. The ducks dive in the Central Canal at the Monon Trail bridge and race to the finish line beyond the Rainbow Bridge, near the pedestrian bridge at College Avenue.
