Things to do in Indianapolis – April 2018

March Madness is done and April brings about the start of spring in Indianapolis (despite what the snow on the ground outside says!) There are many great events to begin to get outside and enjoy our wonderful city this month. Here are just a few of our favorites!

 

Good Bones Season 3 Premier Party

When: April 3rd, 7:30-11:00PM

Where: Metazoa Brewing Company (140 S College Ave, Indianapolis, Indiana 46202)

Do you love Indianapolis’s own “Two Chicks and a Hammer” as much as we do? The girls are getting ready to star in the third season of their HGTV show “Good Bones” and Metazoa Brewing is hosting a party for the season premier. Pets are welcome at Metazoa and the beer is awesome!

 

Indiana Pacers vs Golden State Warriors

When: April 5th, 7:00PM

Where: Bankers Life Fieldhouse (125 S. Pennsylvania St., Indianapolis, IN 46204)

NBA star Steph Curry and his Golden State Warriors make their last visit of the year to Indy for a matchup with the red hot Pacers as they battle for playoff seeding. Get out and support the boys in blue and gold in one of their last regular season home games of the year!

 

Bike to the Ballpark 

When: April 6th, 3:00PM

Where: Sun King Brewing (135 N College Ave, Indianapolis, IN 46202)

Start with a pre-game party at Sun King Brewery, then pedal with the mayor to Victory Field to see the Indians in their season opener against the Columbus Clippers. Bike enthusiasts of all ages are welcome to attend the Bike to the Ballpark pre-party celebration before  a ride through downtown Indy to Victory Field. There is no fee to participate in Bike to the Ballpark, but tickets must be purchased for the game.

 

Prairie Tykes – The Wonderful World of Mother Goose

When: April 12-13th, 9:30AM

Where: Conner Prairie (13400 Allisonville Rd., Fishers, IN 46038)

Children must be accompanied by an adult at no charge. Younger siblings are welcome. Have fun exploring nursery rhymes together and then meeting some of the animals in the rhymes. For ages 3-6.

 

Clayton Anderson Concert

When: April 13th, 8:00PM

Where: Rathskeller (401 E. Michigan St., Indianapolis, IN 46204)

Bedford’s favorite sun and rising Nashville star Clayton Anderson returns to his home state for a show at the famous Rathskeller. Go support great local music and enjoy seeing Clayton in a small venue before his career takes off nationwide. 

 

IU vs Notre Dame College Baseball

When: April 17th, 7:00PM

Where: Victory Field (501 W. Maryland St., Indianapolis, IN 46225)

The boys of summer from state favorite teams the Hoosiers and the Fighting Irish take each other on at the home of the Indianapolis Indians, Victory Field. Get out and support your favorite team!

 

Happy Hour at the Symphony: Josh Kaufman

When: April 19th, 6:30PM

Where: Hilbert Circle Theater (45 Monument Circle, Indianapolis, IN 46204)

Winner of The Voice, host of the 2017 IPL Yuletide Celebration, and Indiana’s favorite adopted son Josh Kaufman joins the Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra for Broadway blockbusters, smash soul hits, and his original songs. Food and drink samples will be provided by: Harry & Izzys, CharBlue, Giordano’s, Gallery Pastry Shop, Nada, Ocean Prime, Maggiano’s Little Italy, and Spoke & Steele. Following the show, do not forget to join us for the After Party at Giordano’s!

 

Happy Hour at the Symphony: Josh Kaufman

When: April 21st, 8:00AM

Where: Clay Terrace (14390 Clay Terrace Blvd., Ste. 165, Carmel, IN 460324)

The 2nd Annual Hustle for the House is a 5K Walk/Run benefiting the St. Vincent House that supports Peyton Manning Children’s Hospital. The race is open to people of all ages and abilities. Come join the excitement as you run through Clay Terrace with hundreds of others by participating in the Second Annual 5K presented by Athleta and Mainstreet. As you wrap up your run enjoy a tasty mimosa or bloody mary in the commemorative cup (non alchoholic beverages available as well). The race will start and finish in front of Prime 47 Steakhouse.

 

Arbor Day at Conner Prairie

When: April 27th, 10:00AM

Where: Conner Prairie (13400 Allisonville Rd., Fishers, IN 46038)

Get a free tree while supplies last when you visit Conner Prairie on Arbor Day. Get outside and connect with nature by seeing how many different types of trees you can identify or talk with foresters to discover what trees grow in Indiana and how they are used.
