John Hartford Memorial Festival

Details: A three-day music festival held in memory of musician John Hartford, the event is organized by his longtime friend John Hotz who provides musicians and music lovers with the opportunity to come together in their appreciation for wonderful music. Hotz books bands that either knew or were influenced by the life of his friend and has hosted such acts as Bela Fleck, Tim O’Brien and Sam Bush. You can purchase tickets here.

Details: This is a summer event held to fundraise for the parish’s community efforts throughout the year. Attractions include a lineup of live music performances, which have featured the likes of My Yellow Rickshaw as well as The Flying Toasters. The festival also features a kid’s talent competition, carnival rides and a vast array of food and beverage selections for guests to choose from.

Details: This is the largest LGBT pride event in Indianapolis, Indiana, and features both a parade and an accompanying festival. The festivities promote LGBT rights and spur socially conscious conversation about the subject. The week-long event kicks off with a 5k run and walk, and other attractions like a Cadillac Barbie Parade, live music and parties hosted by local restaurants and bars.
Christ Church Cathedral Strawberry Festival

Details: This utilizes more than 300 volunteers and serves an estimated six tons of strawberries and 18,000 homemade shortcakes. More than 95 percent of the Strawberry Festival proceeds goes directly to local, national and international not-for-profit outreach groups.
